Smoker’s effect on lungs similiar to Cystic Fibrosis

Smoking has a similiar effect on lungs as cystic fibrosis, a life threatning disease affecting the lungs and other organs. Researchers found that like cystic fibrosis,smoking leads to the production of sticky mucus that causes dry cough and infections. Ewwww how nasty can this get!!! Cystic fibrosis interferes with the movements of salt and water in the cells lining the lungs trapping bacteria in thick mucus, resulting in fatal infections!!
